Why do some toddlers have rotten front teeth?
Unfortunately this is just un-informed parenting; as a first time parent we often forget the daily activities that have been engrained into our daily routines and are now invisible to us. Kids don’t know/understand the importance of oral hygiene. They also don’t go to work and therefore they don’t need to worry about the social implications of morning breath. But most importantly, part of the night routine often includes a bottle feed (makes sense since this usually this makes them drowsy and helps with putting them to sleep). But remains of that milk pool in pockets in their mouths. Night after night, this will eventually cause cavities on those front teeth.
Our daughter just grew her first tooth and this is now top of mind.
